Antibend toroids are among the most controversial poi tricks out there! Can we really say that they’re the counterpart to antispin flowers and what makes a bend an antibend? A younger me certainly didn’t think so, but I’m older and wiser now! We’re going to get deep into some advanced poi spinning theory here as I break down this pretty geeky corner of the tech poi world. Short answer: antibend toroids are indeed a thing, but we need to learn a few things both about how poi function in a 3d environment as well as how they can be compared to a staff in order to understand why.
