Poi wraps were my first tool for changing timing and direction! I’ve since moved on to primarily using other tools like stalls and pendulums, but I have fond memories of wraps and how the glowstringers who taught them to me had a big impact on my early years of poi spinning. Here I’ll take you through some of the basics of forearm wraps and an exercise you can use to get more comfortable with them. A cool-looking classic of beginner poi tricks and an excellent tool for exploring basic transitions as well!
